Coming
from LACC George Hinshaw, brings over over 15 years of professional
playing experience to the Diamonds Baseball Academy in addition to numerous
stops along the scouting trails of major league baseball. His professional
playing career opened with the San Diego Padres organization in 1980
where it grew into five seasons with two recalls to the
major leagues.
The
following years found him learning a new language and culture as he
starred with the Chunichi Dragons of the Japanese Professional Baseball
League. However, a series of mounting injuries including many years
of winter baseball throughout the Carribean forced Hinshaw to take a
three-year hiatus from baseball to recharge his baseball
batteries and pursue other personal and professional interests including
starting his own business in the trucking and transport industry. With
his heart still firmly imbedded in baseball, Hinshaw returned to the
sport he loves when he traveled to Taiwan and played for the China Times
Eagles of the Chinese Professional Baseball League from 1994-to-1997.
It was here that he also first tasted front office experience
as an assistant to the General Manager and a scouting consultant.
His
high school coaching career began in 1998 when he became assistant coach
at Junipero Serra High School in Gardena. He then joined the staff at
Lynwood High School in 1999 and coached at Lynwood through 2003.

has worked with Major league baseballs Urban youth academy from
its inception in 2005. Former California Angel and now Executive Director
of UYA Darrell Miller brought Hinshaw in as a staff member during the
early stages of the MLB Academys development, George has continued
his association and besides other duties is the head coach for the MLB
Academys summer collegiate baseball team the Barons an entrant
in the California Collegiate league ( CCL ) where he continues spreading
his baseball knowledge to young players throughout Southern California
in addition to his duties as the Cubs head coach. Despite formerly a
right fielder and just for measure Hinshaw, is also a certified pitching
instructor through the National Pitching Association, ( NPA ) an organization
founded by former Major League pitcher Tom House, PhD, who is currently
